The Moment of Anticipation

“As I sit here in the midst of my morning reflections, I feel this real sense of ending and beginning. My house is in chaos in the midst of renovations. My office and my lounge room, which I use as my personal reflection space are packed up ready for the painting that was to take place this week. The curtains have been removed and given away. Furniture no longer serving us has been given away. It lies in its death bed, waiting for renewal, waiting to be reborn into this something new. A new space for me to be in the newness of my life. Piece by piece I have surrendered. Now the final pieces are falling away. As I deeply exhale, I move into the in-between. The moment of stillness. The moment where nothing happens, waiting for that new breath to be drawn in. I rejoice in this time of waiting. This time of stillness that allows the next breath to be born.”

A moment of anticipation for something new to come forward.

While I wrote this in terms of my own life and my own sense of being right now, I had to ponder this relevance for business, especially at this time. That which we thought was serving us, no longer does. It has been stripped away and we are now left in this state of unknowing.

This is a good place to be. It is in the letting go of what we thought was everything, that we find new possibilities, new ways of being. We start to think more creatively. We allow those who had previously been unheard to have their input. We question with greater intensity.

Taking time in the in-between allows us to sit in anticipation for something new to born through us. It is a powerful moment that opens up the world of possibilities.
